Are you preparing for a 5-day cruise adventure out of Galveston? Packing the right clothing can make all the difference in ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable trip. Here’s a comprehensive guide on what to wear on your Galveston cruise:
Essential Items
Swimwear: Bring 2-3 swimsuits, rash guards, or swim trunks to enjoy the pool, hot tub, or beach activities.
Cover-ups: Pack lightweight, breathable cover-ups like sundresses, tunics, or beach pants for coller evenings or air-conditioned indoor spaces.
Shorts and tops: Include a few pairs of shorts and tops for casual daytime wear.
Light jacket or sweater: Although Galveston cruises can be warm, indoor areas or cooler evenings might require a light layer.
Comfortable shoes: Bring sneakers, sandals, or water shoes for various activities and excursions.
Dressy outfit: If your cruise has formal nights, pack a dressy outfit, such as a cocktail dress or suit and tie.
Galveston Cruise-Specific Considerations
Gulf Coast weather: Be prepared for potential rain showers or windy conditions. Sailing out of Galveston in January, February, and March waters can be a little rough at times. The weather in Texas will determine how the waters are when you depart and return. If Texas is cold, you will have some rough waters leaving and coming back. So, make sure you read this next tip.
Sea Sickness medication: Just in case. I use Motion Eaze. You can get it from Amazon. It is essential oils with NO side effects at all.
Beach and pool time: Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for outdoor protection.
Evening attire: Check your cruise line’s dress code for evening events. If you booked your trip through me, I will make sure you know all dress codes and events for your sailing.
Shore excursions: Pack accordingly for any planned excursions, such as hiking boots or water shoes.
