For our most recent stay at Universal Orlando, we decided to check out the budget-friendly Dockside Inn & Suites. Universal’s Endless Summer Resort does consist of two separate resorts (Dockside and Surfside) that are located across the street from each other. Both of which are similar in price, offer Early Park Admission, and Bus transportation to the parks. Once inside Dockside you will enter the large lobby area which features Starbucks and a Universal Studios Store. Here you will also find their check-in desk, luggage services, and ticket desk. We loved the “beach” vibe and loved all the decor.

Transportation: Universal offers complimentary bus transportation to all 3 of their parks. You will be stopping at both resorts for your trips to and from the parks. Buses arrive about every 10-15 minutes and it is about a 10 minute bus ride to the parks. My only complaint would be that the Drop-off location at City Walk is the furthest bus stop away and is also currently under construction as of Oct 2021.

Standard Room Pool-View: I loved the look of this room! Bright and airy with a fun beach vibe. The light wood and colors of the room were very relaxing. Our room also had a great view on the 6th floor of the pool area. Amenities included: One flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, 2 queen beds, complimentary wifi, in-room safe, hairdryer, and alarm clock. Overall, the beds were super comfortable and for two people the 313 sq ft room was the perfect size. The only downside that we were missing with this room would have to be the coffee maker. With a food court and Starbucks in the lobby, it’s not a deal breaker. But as we were heading to the airport prior to 7am it really would have been nice to have that cup of coffee. That reason alone for us would be the reason to opt for the 2-bedroom suites as those rooms do come with a coffee maker.

Dining and Lounge Areas: Definitely a great reason to stay here at Dockside! It features a food hall, lobby and pool bars, Starbucks, plus a pizza and fried chicken delivery option. The Pier 8 Market is your go-to option or breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Featuring 5 food stations, grab and go options, and all under $12. From soup, burgers, dessert, sandwiches, or salad. There is plenty for everyone and we really enjoyed it.

The Sunset Lounge (located inside near the lobby) offered a relaxing stop after the parks and a great spot to watch a game on TV. Great service, great drinks, just be advised they do not serve snacks. The Oasis Beach Bar was probably our favorite spot at Dockside Inn & Suites. Great selection of drinks and a large seating area to relax at. It was the perfect spot for us to enjoy the weather and end our park day. Drinks are also less expensive here than at the parks!

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dockside Inn & Suites. If you are looking for a budget-friendly option for you and your family then I would highly recommend it. With the perks of staying on-site (complimentary transportation, early park admission), 2-bedroom suites, food/drink options at great pricing, you can’t go wrong!
